Passage: Exodus 13:17–14:31
Like any epic adventure, Exodus introduces a cast of memorable characters: kings and princes, masters and slaves.
- We have met Pharaoh, the seething tyrant whose mood could change without warning.
- We have met Shiphrah and Puah, the crafty midwives who saved the sons of Israel from infanticide.
- We have met Jochebed, the mother who put her baby in a basket, as well as the princess who found him there.
- We have met Aaron, who had a way with words, and his brother Moses, that mountain man of a prophet.
But there is a character in this true story who is more compelling than all the rest of them combined. He is infinitely amazing and endlessly fascinating--someone altogether unique.
